House Maintains Guide

We’d like to remind you that the Tenants must maintain reasonable health, cleanliness and sanitary standards throughout the rental unit and the other areas of the residential property Tenants have access to.

Humidity

• The ideal relative humidity level for a home is between 40 and 50 percent.
• Increasing the airflow within your home (Open the window at least one hour a day)
• Bathroom exhaust fans and vent fans for your stove can be key in keeping a low humidity level in your house

Garden & Exterior

• Please keep clean the exterior of the house
• If you need help with gardening or tree trimming, please contact us to discuss it with the owner.

Pest control

• Remove clutter and rubbish from your yard, garage/carport, and basement.
• Clean up any leftover food when your pet is finished eating.
• Use proper garbage cans with tight-fitting lids to store garbage.
• Wash away urine stains, rub marks, and tracks with a mild bleach solution
• Using Snap traps, Multiple catch traps, Glue boards or Pesticides to control rodents.

• Vancouver’s close relationship with nature can sometimes mean dealing with coyotes, raccoons, skunks, and other wild animals.

Pets

• Permission is absolutely necessary (From the house owner and the building(*or Strata))
• Tenant insurance with pet damages needed
• Licensing your dog is mandatory in Vancouver
